This Sunday morning, September 22, will be a big day at the Cathedral of St. Philip. (All Sundays are big days at the Cathedral of St. Philip!)
The Very Rev. Sam Candler, Dean of the Cathedral, will celebrate and preach at the 7:45 a.m. service in Mikell Chapel, and preach at the 8:45 a.m. service in the Cathedral.
Then, we welcome the Right Rev. Robert Wright, Bishop of Atlanta, for a parish visitation. Bishop Wright will teach at the Dean’s Forum at 10:10 a.m. in Child Hall on faith and politics.
At the 11:15 a.m. service, Bishop Wright will celebrate, preach, and confirm 36 Cathedral youth. These confirmands participated in confirmation class throughout the 2023-2024 program year. We also welcome 6 confirmands from other Episcopal parishes in the Diocese of Atlanta: St. John’s, College Park, and St. Paul’s, Newnan. Pray for all of these confirmands and welcome them into mature commitment to the Christian faith!
