Greetings! I want to let you know that Georgia Power and Atlanta Gas Light will relocate their lines to the Cathedral over the next two weeks. The work will impact Andrews Drive and the Andrews Drive driveway to the Cathedral parking lot. Here is what can be expected:
- Week of November 11: Georgia Power will bury new power lines across Andrews Dr. and near the Deanery and Lanier House.
- Monday, November 18: Georgia Power will disconnect old lines and reconnect new lines. Part of the Cathedral campus (Preschool Nurturing Center, Diocesan Offices, Child Hall, Nave, etc.) will lose power for about two hours—will confirm time frame when we know more.
- November 19-21: Atlanta Gas Light will relocate the gas line under Andrews driveway (the driveway will be closed to traffic)
The tentative start date for formal construction remains December 2 and the Cathedral will send monthly updates throughout the construction process and periodic updates for work that may impact neighbors (i.e. like the work over the next two weeks).
